The song is written by Tom Lehrer during the nuclear proliferation era of the 60's.

One of the big news items of the past year concerned the fact that China, which we called "Red China," exploded a nuclear bomb, which we called a device. Then Indonesia announced that it was going to have one soon, and proliferation became the word of the day. Here's a song about that:

First we got the bomb, and that was good,
'Cause we love peace and motherhood.
Then Russia got the bomb, but that's okay,
'Cause the balance of power's maintained that way.
Who's next?

France got the bomb, but don't you grieve,
'Cause they're on our side (I believe).
China got the bomb, but have no fears,
They can't wipe us out for at least five years.
Who's next?

Then Indonesia claimed that they
Were gonna get one any day.
South Africa wants two, that's right:
One for the black and one for the white.
Who's next?

Egypt's gonna get one too,
Just to use on you know who.
So Israel's getting tense.
Wants one in self defense.
"The Lord's our shepherd," says the psalm,
But just in case, we better get a bomb.
Who's next?

Luxembourg is next to go,
And (who knows?) maybe Monaco.
We'll try to stay serene and calm
When Alabama gets the bomb.
Who's next?
Who's next?
Who's next?
Who's next?

The sun'll come out Tomorrow,
bet your bottom dollar that Tomorrow there'll be sun!
Just thinking about Tomorrow,
clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none.
When I'm stuck with a day, that's gray, and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say: Oh!
The sun'll come out Tomorrow,
So you got to hang on 'til Tomorrow.
Come what may!
Tomorrow, Tomorrow,
I love ya, Tomorrow,
you're only a day away.
Tomorrow, Tomorrow,
I love ya, Tomorrow,
you're only a day away!

"I'll Always Be Right There"

When you're all alone,
and you need a light,
someone to guide you through the night,
just remember that I am here,
to hold you close and dry your tears.

Oh-ooh

And just when you thought you were falling,
but you know I'll always be right there.

When you're all alone,
and you need a friend,
someone to help you to the end,
when you need someone to catch you when you fall,
I'll be there through it all.

oh-oh

Cause just when you thought you were losing,
but you know I'll always be right there.

And I'll be there through the good times,
and the bad,
and we'll be there for each other,
cause you're the best friend I've ever had.

And just when you thought you were falling,
but you know I'll always be right there.
oh-oooh whenever you need me,
I'll always be right there.

This song is sooo erm saddening yet happying.
I'm not making sense again. As usual lor.
Tomorrow can go GPA for one whole week yeyy cause then can skip somethings.
And there's the SDC Discovering Singapore Quiz on Thursday.
Must make sure we don't blow this one. If we win we make it to the finals.
Hopefully we make it there. Hmm.
Its kind of aloneish now. Its kind of lonely but.
There's the inner solace.
I'm just torn apart by things.

Conflict of One [21 Feb 2003|10:12pm]
A dreamer, full of hopes;
A dark shadow among others.
An idealist, escaping reality;
Encountering dark and violent dreams.
Lives in a little enclaved storyworld;
Ignorant of the dangers of the real world.
Yearning for peace and love;
Muddled in hatred and war.

My personal opinions. [20 Feb 2003|09:56pm]
Meanwhile my ecstacy lasts over my amazing feat of passing E Maths, I realised that a deep thought was forming.
The reason I am very glad to know I passed is because half of my class failed.
The obvious. 3E is going to be tagged as the worst class.
Even though we were not supposed to be.
But attitude wise and environment, its hard not to disagree.
Our classroom is basically dirty. Books and worksheets strewn everywhere.
Attitude towards learning is very lacking. While the teacher is talking, yearbooks and magazines are being read.
It doesn't help that the class has no prefect who has the authority given by the school to stop all the wrong activities.
Monitors. The monitors are elected by the class. I'm not saying they are not doing a good job. They're terrific.
However, the class doesn't listen to them. Some think they are friends with the monitors so they have a right to be noisy or stuffs.
3E for your own sake. For everyone's sake.
Shape up.

For another matter.
In English we are asked to write a biography by using information extracted from an interview.
See there's alot of strict guidelines on what to write and what not to write.
Here the education system has a chance to spot and cultivate creativity.
But nooo you have to implement guidelines, say this is wrong this is right.
And it doesn't even involve grammar where's there's a clear distinct line between what's wrong and what's right.
You scrutinize the fluency and flow of writing, the tone, the usage of quotes and others that makes up the style of writing.
Basically my point is. If you are going to say that I'm wrong for writing a biography this way.
All I can say is
"You teach us how to write biographies and you want us to follow strictly? Might as well also tell us how to pee."
Not literally but you get the idea? Yeah.

[ Not bad for someone who is still having headaches and seeing the neuro on 5/5. Yeys getta skip school. ]

I started the ball rolling.
But I can't finish it up.
Its not my duty anymore.
I did what was best for my best friend.
And along compromised some others.
But it had to be done.

Referring to an old subject.

VS and VJC are two different institutions. Whether I choose to go to RJC is my personal choice.
It doesn't mean that since I'm a student leader in VS, I have to go to VJC.
As I said, they are two different institutions. They seperated in 1984.
Other than sharing the same name and spirit and tradition, and a minus 2 from the aggregate, there is nothing that binds VS and VJC together.
Just because they were once a same school doesn't mean that VS students must try their hardest to go to VJC.
Case study Malaysia and Singapore. Classic cliche example.
We were once part of Malaysia.
So must we pledge our allegiance to Malaysia too?
Its not the context I'm talking about here but the principle of the matter.
So please don't "Hah? You crazy?" me when I say I want to go to RJC.
It is my education and I have the right to it.
Point taken?

[ Prologue ]

The sun shone very brightly.
Sweat trickled down his forehead and back.

The wind blew softly.
He looked up.

Endless bright sparkly spots dominating the skyline of the heavens.
A cresent figure stands by them.

The moon shone along with her stars to light up the night sky.
Giving all her best, despite her small stature relative to the vast night sky.

The sun wasn't there to help her.

He looked down.

There was his siblings. Countless of younger sisters and brothers.
There was his mum. Tending to their needs.
Hurrying from the makeshift kitchen of the caravan to the campfire.
Giving all her best to take care of them.

Their father wasn't there to help her.

[ Chapter One ]

The sun shone very brightly.
Sweat trickled down his forehead and back.

The wind blew softly.
Cooling the little boy.

His father beat him up.
Till blood gushes out.

His mother wipes the wounds tenderly.
Giving a solace to the little boy.
